This is the beginning of what could be a longer story. Right now it is just a plot bunny. Ever since I saw the series first, I have asked myself of which allies Kanbei is speaking in the opening battle scene. And as I began to think about it, they began to take shape, along with some other elements. Shichiroji's song has also inspired parts of this story.
